About the Author

R. Narayanaswamy (PhD, University of New South Wales, Sydney) is Professor of Finance and Control at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. He has served as Visiting Fellow at Manchester Business School and Osaka University. He is a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, The Institute of Cost Accountants of India and The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He holds the ICAI’s Diploma in Management Accountancy. He has published in national and international journals, including The British Accounting Review, The International Journal of Accounting, The Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, Research in Accounting Regulation and Accountancy and Accounting Horizons. He contributed a chapter on India in Globalisation of Accounting published by Edward Elgar, UK. He was an independent director and chairman of the audit committee of the Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited and has been a Special Invitee on the ICAI’s Accounting Standards Board and the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board. Business Today named him among the best business school professors.
